VELIZ DENTAL Prosthetics (VDP) wants to work together with your practice to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) and any other infections by improving the disinfection protocols that we usually do. Using proper infection control precautions is important to VDP – as it is to your dental office.

 

Improper handling of contaminated items, such as impressions, casts, and other prosthetic devices, can lead to cross-contamination and possible cross-infections for personnel and patients. When used together the routine use of recommended by CDC and ADA infection control procedures and protocols, along with effective communication between dental practice and the dental laboratory, it can provide a safe work environment for those with potential occupational risks.

For this reason, VDP is asking you to follow the steps below using disinfection products that satisfy the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 and any other infections:

• Spray or immerse IMPRESSIONS, CASTS, CROWNS, DENTURES, PARTIALS, WAX TRYING, BITE REGISTRATIONS, OCCLUSAL RIMS, CUSTOM TRAYS and any other prosthetic devices sent to VDP with the products that you like the most.

• Pack them in a sealed bag and place them into a box.   

• Place a label on top of the sealed  bag or box indicating that the case has been completely disinfected.
